Link to my best work for Elective (Engineering): ExploraVision Challenge - ShiverBurn Sweater

 

          For this project, we participated in a challenge called "ExploraVision" that was hosted by Toshiba and the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA). We needed to imagine a piece of technology that we think would exist 20 years into the future. We brainstormed multiple ideas, but we soon narrowed it down to one. We had to explain the history of the product that we were making, the consequences of it, and more.

 

          We chose to create a sweater that would heat someone up if it was cold, and cool someone down if it was hot. The sweater was made of 60% linen and 40% silk. We chose to make 60-40 instead of an even 50-50 because silk is a thicker material and maintains heat well, which is why we only used 40% of it. We got recognized as an honorable mention by Toshiba and the NSTA for the ExploraVision challenge. This is something that not every entrant in the challenge received, so we were ecstatic when we received it.
